Bescause of maintenance the tunnels are regularly closed for traffic. To reduce the inconvenience caused, the work is done at night. Abnormal loads traffic may not follow the local diversion (outside the tunnel).

The Brexit will start possibly on 31/10/19 at 00h

This can cause large traffic problems on the important belgian connecting roads (A11, N31, E40) but also on some secondary roads.

The region of Bruges/Zeebrugge, West coast, and Menen will probabely be most affected.

The port area of Rotterdam

Starting today, a number of important roads in the port area of Rotterdam will be added to the annual exceptional transport permit network that allows passage to vehicles weighing up to 100 tons. In close cooperation with the Municipality of Rotterdam, Rotterdam Port Authority, TLN and RDW, agreements have been made about the conditions under which these roads can be freed for vehicles weighing up to 100 tons.
