Escorting of abnormal loads

For each heavy or abnormal load haulage by road in Belgium which has a length of more than 30 m or is 3.5 m wide or higher than 5 m or heavier than 180 tonnes, one is required to employ specially equipped pilot cars. (read further) 
 

Route reconnoitring

Route reconnoitring is in fact a significant and technical aspect with which many factors play a crucial role. For each convoy, one has to reconnoitre and calculate the route anew. (read further)

Permit

One is required to have a permit from the Federale Overheidsdienst Mobiliteit en Vervoer [Federal Public Service [FPS] Mobility and Transport] for each freight haulage with a length of more than 16.5 m, wider than 2.5 m, higher than 4 m or heavier than 44 tonnes. (read further)
